Symantec Warns of Security Risks in Windows Vista

“Symantec has issued a report after examining Microsoft’s latest Vista release that warns of instability and security risks. The security software firm looked at a very small part of the new operating system, namely, the new networking technology, and found several security flaws. Movie Downloads To Cut DVD Retailers Out

“It seems that the internet is about to do for movies what has already been done for music. In a historic first, Hollywood studios will allow consumers to download selected movies and burn them to DVD for purchase. The online service called Movielink is owned jointly by five major studios, Buena Vista, Lionsgate, MGM, Sony Pictures and Universal Studios, and will rely on digital rights management technology to prevent pirate DVD copies being made. Hacked Ad Seen on MySpace Served Spyware to a Million

Warner Bros. Takes on China’s Movie Pirates

“Hollywood studio Warner Bros. is taking on the pirates in China’s film market, using lightning-fast home video release and low prices to beat DVD counterfeiters at their own game. Warner’s China film-making joint venture released its first picture, a low-budget film called “Crazy Stone”, in cinemas on June 30, then followed with a DVD version selling for as little as 10 yuan ($1.25) just 12 days later. The study estimated 93 percent of all movie sales in China were pirated versions…” (Read full article here)
