Netflix will begin IP rental of films and television this week. lthough limited in selection to about 1,000 titles and available initially to a few subscribers, this is the beginning of Netflix’s main business plan to net rent video straight over IP that just wasn’t technically feasible back when they started. “The big news is the PC game Crysis is coming to the 360. However, that PC game won’t be the same game as what we will see on the home console. Because Crysis will be running at DirectX10, the game would look inferior since the 360 can only do DirectX9 (as mentioned before). So, the developers are using the same universe that the PC game is set in, with some similar story elements, but the gameplay will be entirely different…” (Read full article here)

“There’s been a strong reaction this morning to the latest executions in Iraq with video footage showing Saddam Hussein’s half brother decapitated in a bungled hanging. Officials showed journalists the footage to prove the beheading was accidental, declaring it a rare event, and vowing that the video will never become public.
